About Us
The Story
In 1992 the UN held its first environmental Global Summit. On 27th July 1992, Museum of World Railways changed its name to Railworld to focus on railways and the environmental credentials of train travel and environmental issues, something the registered charity felt was a much greater pressing requirement. In May 1993 Railworld opened its Rail & the Environment exhibition center. Year on year it has developed, grown and changed.
So the mid 90's saw Railworld develop an environmental stance and when Brian Pearce came forward with the desire to build a wildlife haven on the north site complete with an Environmental education centre with a revolving 'World' our future path was established. Now moving in a new enviromental direction, we have raised over £184,000 and won six UK awards. this new environmental education centre was branded Globe Hall.
